Conference 2017 – The JUTE National Regional Playwright & Theatre Makers’ Conference
JUTE has successfully produced The Regional Theatre Makers’ Conferences since 2001 and we’re not about to stop when demand for collaboration and conversation between artists is so high. With significant structures now in place, the JUTE Regional Theatre Makers’ Conference is a smooth-running, engaging, inclusive and invigorating weekend of workshops and interaction.
JUTE brings together top directors, actors, designers and dramaturges to workshop, stretch and engage with other emerging and professional actors, directors and writers to produce a highly professional conference, where quality plays with creativity to inspire everyone.
The JUTE Regional Theatre Makers’ Conference is about developing regional theatre artists and the sector. It is therefore not targeted to the general public. At a local level, it is targeted to a range of established and emerging practitioners, JCU & CQU Creative Industry students, drama teachers and amateur theatre makers keen to develop their practice and their engagement within the industry. At a national level, it is designed for anyone working in regional theatre.
We know demand has been strong over the past 15 years due to feedback from previous conferences. Plus, the outcomes towards the development of the regional theatre sector in Australia have been speaking for themselves. JUTE Theatre Company will therefore continue to host our Regional Theatre Makers’ Conference.
