JAS Classes
JUTE Actors Studio Juniors (ages 9-12 years)
JUTE Actors Studio Intermediates (ages 13 -17 years)
JUTE Actors Studio Professional Pathways (ages 15-18 years) Audition Only
JAS JUNIORS
Ages 9-12, free intake up to limited class number of 15. No audition is necessary; there are 1.5 hours classes, one per week (Wednesday 4pm to 5.30pm). This class is aimed at young emerging actors, providing basic acting skills and activities that develop confidence and transferable skills like teamwork, focus, organisation, and imagination. 4 terms.
JAS Juniors includes a showcase outcome with professional feedback every term. $275 per term.
JAS INTERMEDIATES
Intermediates for youth aged 13-17, intake up to a limited class number of 15. No audition is necessary, 1.5 hours of classes, one per week (Wednesday, 5.45pm to 7.15pm). This class is aimed at young teenagers who are just starting out in training and/or emerging actors who are engaged with professional pathway ideas. This tier is seen as a stepping stone for actors preparing to audition for JAS Professional Pathways.
JAS Intermediates includes a showcase outcome with professional feedback every term. $275 per term.
JAS PROFESSIONAL PATHWAYS (intake at the start of the year only)
This program is for those aged 15-18 who are interested in a professional career in the theatre sector. There is one intake per year (January). JAS Professional Pathway features twice-weekly two-hour sessions, Monday (4-6pm) and Thursdays (4-6pm), and actors also gain valuable theatre-making experiences in a range of activities included in the program; special workshops, a public showcase, and a main stage performance season, all adding up to a total of over 200 hours of tuition. The maximum participant number is 8.
Annual cost $4327 (payment plans available).
Due to the nature of this program and public outcomes, JAS Pathway actors are required to attend all sessions.
Access to this program is by audition only. Auditions will be held as part of JUTE Actor Studio’s Open Day on January 13th at 1pm at Bulmba-ja Arts Centre. To register for an audition, you must complete the Audition Form and submit it to JUTE. Prior to auditioning you must also review and sign this document outlining the course content, expectation and schedule.
