JUTE is in the business of making great theatre and developing exceptional diverse new works. To do this we provide state of the art development programs that work with beginners, emerging and established artists in the craft of making theatre. We also recognise that the future of vibrant communities and entrepreneurial innovation in all walks of life relies on individuals exploring and cultivating their creativity. JUTE honours diversity and inclusion and we encourage everyone to take the plunge and explore our theatre making programs.
Write Sparks – 101
Writing Development Course for new & emerging writers.
Write Sparks – JUTE Writers in Residence
This stream is open to graduate participants of the Write Sparks program and emerging/established playwrights who wish to extend their writing practice and work toward a finished draft of a full-length play for theatre production.
JUTE regularly commissions new works from established playwrights.
JUTE undertakes ‘creative developments’ of the work it is moving towards production, bringing the creative teams together to refine new work for the rehearsal process. We invite our audience in to observe and respond to the showings of these creative developments.
To develop the skills of regional professional theatre-makers we offer workshops and masterclasses where possible. The JUTE Theatre School supports the development of young and emerging performers. Subscribe to our e-news and social networks for updates.
