Regional theatre makers are invited to express interest in JUTE Theatre Company’s March Skills Intensive 2025, delivered through the DARTS initiative.

Expressions of Interest are invited for intensives in: Access and Inclusion and Directing

 
Selected participants will receive:
  • Three days of fee-free, professional theatre skills development, delivered by highly-experienced practitioners.
  • Paid accommodation*
  • Travel bursary*
*Non-local participants only. Limited quantities available. Meals and ground transport to be at own expense.

AVAILABLE INTENSIVES:

INTENSIVE 1: ACCESS AND INCLUSION

Participants will learn practical strategies for embedding access and inclusion principles in regional theatre projects.

Who is this intensive for?

  • Independent theatremakers designing and delivering their own projects
  • Company-based creative producers

Who will get the most out of this intensive?

  • Theatremakers with a specific project they wish to apply their learning to.
  • Theatremakers working with artists with diverse access requirements, including artists with disability.
  • Theatremakers engaging audiences and communities with diverse access requirements, including disability communities.

INTENSIVE 2: DIRECTING

Participants will explore the directorial process of a highly experienced practitioner, gaining practical tools and techniques that can be applied to their own directorial practice.

Who is this intensive for?

  • Early-career directors and practicing actors looking to branch out into directing.

Who will get the most out of this intensive?

  • Directors in their first few years of professional practice.
  • Directors transitioning from community to professional practice.
  • Practicing actors looking to explore directing as an additional professional pathway.
