The Assignment

by Terri Brabon

"No, no, no, no, no! I’m the one that the audience loves, got me! I’m Molly Ringwald and you...you are just one of those...beautiful... blonde-haired actresses whose name no-one ever remembers."
- Excerpt from The Assignment

Description

Written & directed by Terri Brabon for the talents of TheatreiNQ’s next generation.

It’s 1989 and while the Berlin Wall may be crumbling on the other side of the world, in sunny North Queensland Jamie Kelly fills her idyllic existence with Take 40 Australia, Young Talent Time and Dance!! But when she is accused of cheating on an assignment, Jamie discovers that life can get in the way of your dreams.

The Assignment is a coming-of-age comedy, that celebrates life growing up in a small North Queensland town, in a very different time.
